LOCAL INDEPENDENT GYM LAUNCHES NEW COMMUNITY BENEFIT MEMBERSHIP
Bee-Fit Club, Chelmsford’s most affordable, friendly personal training gym, launches a new membership this week designed to support those less fortunate in our community.
Bee-Fit is forging relationships with appropriate local charities who can send vouchers to the people they support (and their families) who will then be eligible for the heavily-discounted membership. The Community Benefit Membership will cost just £30 per month for unlimited off-peak personal training.
Bee-Fit Club Managing Director Matt King said: “We are a local, independent business and we want to help our local community. Most people would benefit from regular fitness training and our personal training model means that every session here is entirely tailored to the individual. We already train a couple of members living with MS and a member living with Alzheimers, but we also know that the families of people who have challenging conditions would also benefit, both physically and mentally, from regular exercise with trainers who will look after them and make them feel welcome. At Bee-Fit we train every age from 15 and every ability from the elite athlete to the complete fitness novice – everyone feels at home here.”
Little Havens Hospice has become the first charity to embrace the scheme. For every new member referred by Little Havens that signs up for a 12-month contract, Bee-Fit Club will donate £15 to the charity, regardless of whether they are a Community Benefit or regular member.
Claire Wilson, community fundraiser for Little Havens Hospice, said: “When a family has been told that there’s no cure for their child’s illness and all that can be done is to make life comfortable, Little Havens Hospice can help. We focus on the individual needs of the children we care for, ‘Making every day count’ for those with life-limiting illnesses and their families. We help by controlling pain and medication, offering short breaks and caring for each child at the end of their lives. We don’t charge a penny for our care – and that’s only possible because of donations made by people like Bee-Fit. Little Havens Hospice is the only children’s hospice in Essex dedicated to caring for those with life-limiting illnesses.”
Matt continued: “We are delighted that a charity with such deserving beneficiaries has been the first to take us up on our Community Benefit Membership and referral scheme and look forward to helping as many local charities as possible.”
