Tennessee baseball wins home regular-season finale

Tennessee (35-18, 13-14 SEC) hosted its final home game during the 2026 regular season on Tuesday. The Vols defeated Belmont (19-33, 9-12 MVC), 11-1, in eight innings at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

Tennessee leads the all-time series versus the Bruins, 17-4. All games during the series have been contested in Knoxville. The Vols have won 12 consecutive games in the in-state series.

Nic Abraham (2-0) started for the Vols and pitched 5.2 innings, earning his second win of the season, on Tuesday. He recorded four strikeouts and 50 pitches, including 39 strikes, against 20 batters. Abraham allowed four hits and one run (one earned).

Brady Frederick recorded the Vols' other strikeout in the run-rule contest after pitching 1.2 innings of relief.

Tennessee's offense totaled 12 hits, including six home runs. Jay Abernathy Jr., Levi Clark, Henry Ford, Trent Grindlinger, Hunter High and Garrett Wright hit one home run each for the Vols.

Clark, Grindlinger and Wright recorded two hits each for Tennessee.

Reese Chapman started in right field and went 1-for-4, scoring one run in the eighth inning for the Vols.

Tennessee will face Oklahoma, Thursday-Saturday, to conclude regular-season play for a three-game series at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The SEC Tournament will be contested May 19-24 at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama.
