The Pittsburgh Steelers won the AFC North last season and former quarterback Ben Roethlisberger expects them to have another solid season.

Pittsburgh hired Mike McCarthy as its new head coach and the Steelers have expectations of competing for a playoff spot again. Ahead of the start of training camp, Roethlisberger shared his prediction and thinks the team will go 12-5 this season.

“12-5,” Roethlisberger said on his Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger podcast on June 9. “I know sometimes new offenses, new coaches, you can struggle. I just think that Aaron’s [Rodgers] gonna thrive more in this offense that he knows.

"I think he’ll be able to bring the guys with him. I think the line will be a year better knowing each other, playing together, adding some additions, some subtractions. I think the additions at skill positions will be huge.”

Roethlisberger predicts the Steelers will lose to the New England Patriots in Week 2, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 6, a Week 10 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, a Week 11 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, and a Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos before ending the year on a six-game winning streak.

If the Steelers go 12-5, it would put Pittsburgh in a good spot to not only make the playoffs but also win the AFC North.

Roethlisberger also has high expectations for Rodgers in what will be his final season as an NFL quarterback.

Pittsburgh will open its 2026 NFL season at home on Sept. 13 against the Atlanta Falcons.
