KARIM KIMVUIDI STARTS NEW CHAPTER AFTER ORLANDO PIRATES

Kimvuidi joins Hapoel Petah Tikva after spending last season on loan at M.S. Ashdod, where he impressed by scoring four league goals and providing two assists.

The Congolese midfielder leaves Orlando Pirates after struggling to establish himself as a regular starter in Soweto. He showed flashes of quality during his time with the Buccaneers in the Betway Premiership. Yet Kimvuidi found consistent opportunities difficult to come by.

His successful loan spell helped revive his career and paved the way for a permanent stay in Israel.

REACTION TO THE MOVE

Speaking after completing the move, Kimvuidi expressed his excitement about joining his new club.

“I’m excited to join the club,” said Kimviudi told the club’s media. “I’ve heard it’s a big club with a glorious history and a great crowd, and I’m already looking forward to meeting everyone. I thank the professional staff for their trust in me, and I’ll do everything to repay it on the pitch.”

The move brings an end to Kimvuidi’s Orlando Pirates chapter and offers the midfielder a fresh opportunity to continue his development abroad as he prepares for the 2026/27 season.

FROM DR CONGO TO ORLANDO PIRATES AND ISRAEL

Kimvuidi launched his senior career with DR Congo giants Daring Club Motema Pembe, where his performances earned him a place in the national squad for the 2020 African Nations Championship, which was staged in 2021.

The attacking midfielder moved to South Africa in 2022 after signing for Maritzburg United. Despite the club’s relegation from the top flight, Kimvuidi impressed with his creativity and technical ability, attracting interest from several leading PSL sides.

Orlando Pirates secured his signature in July 2023, adding the Congolese playmaker to their squad ahead of the new season. During his spell with the Sea Robbers, he featured in domestic and continental competitions and was part of the squad that lifted the MTN8 trophy.

In search of regular playing time, Kimvuidi left Bucs and joined Israeli outfit FC Ashdod on a season-long loan in August 2025. The move proved beneficial as he rediscovered his form, paving the way for his permanent switch to Hapoel Petah Tikva.
