Detroit Pistons Reportedly Exploring Reunion With Malik Beasley

The Detroit Pistons could be looking to bring back one of their top perimeter shooters.
According to NBA insider Evan Sidery, the Pistons have recently been in contact with Malik Beasley’s representatives regarding a potential return to Detroit.

Sidery reports that there is mutual interest between both sides in a one-year deal.
Beasley Missed Entire 2025-26 Season
Beasley did not play during the 2025-26 season as he remained sidelined amid an NBA investigation related to gambling.
Despite the lost season, the veteran shooting guard appears to remain on Detroit’s radar as the franchise begins evaluating offseason roster moves following its 60-win campaign and Eastern Conference Semifinals appearance.
Beasley Was Productive During His Last Pistons Stint
Before missing the 2025-26 season, Beasley played a key role for Detroit during the 2024-25 campaign.
In 82 games, he averaged 16.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists while shooting 43.0% from the field and an impressive 41.6% from three-point range. He knocked down 3.9 three-pointers per game and provided the floor spacing that helped open opportunities for Cade Cunningham and the rest of Detroit’s offense.
Over his nine-year NBA career, Beasley has averaged 11.7 points per game while shooting 39.1% from beyond the arc.
Shooting Remains a Priority for Detroit
One of the biggest takeaways from the Pistons’ playoff run was the need for additional offensive firepower and reliable perimeter shooting.
Beasley would immediately address that need if a deal comes together. At 29 years old, he remains one of the league’s more proven three-point specialists and could provide another weapon alongside Cunningham, Ausar Thompson, Jalen Duren, and the rest of Detroit’s young core.
For now, discussions appear to be in the early stages, but the possibility of a Beasley reunion is certainly one to watch as the Pistons enter what could be a pivotal offseason.
