Murray has served as a commentator for SEC Network for several years now. The former Georgia star will call the top games on SEC Network, which most of the time are not the SEC's best games of week. Typically the best SEC games are aired on ABC and sometimes ESPN.
"Let's go!" Murray said after Awful Announcing reported that he would be on the SEC Network's top commentator team. "Excited to be a part of the SEC Network primetime game this fall!"
Georgia's two opening games of the season are set to be aired on SEC Network or SEC Network+. The Bulldogs host Tennessee State to start the season on Sept. 5 (SEC Network+). The next week, Georgia hosts Western Kentucky on Sept. 12 (SEC Network), when there's a chance that Murray will call that game.
SEC Network's previous top commentator crew of Tom Hart, Cole Cubelic and Jordan Rodgers are no longer expected to have that role. Rodgers has moved on to a larger role covering college football within ESPN.
