Mets to place reliever Austin Warren on 15-day IL: report

The Mets are placing Austin Warren on the 15-day IL, according to Will Sammon of The Athletic.
The nature of the injury is reportedly unknown, but Warren was scheduled to undergo testing Wednesday.

Warren had been a rising star out of New York's bullpen up until his last few outings.
The right-hander carried a strong 2.45 ERA for the season, but was knocked around for a combined nine runs on eight hits and a pair of walks over 2.0 innings of work his past two appearances.
He saw that mark rise to 4.63 in 35.0 innings on the year.
It remains to be seen what the corresponding roster move will be, but per The Athletic, the IL placement allows the Mets to recall a recently optioned pitcher, such as Tobias Myers.
New York certainly needs all the help it can get with its bullpen eating a ton of innings the past few games.
