A new report claims the Los Angeles Lakers superstar could be facing a massive financial settlement as his custody dispute continues overseas. The reported figure prompted former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant to deliver a blunt assessment.

According to TMZ, Goltes recently withdrew her child support petition in California before filing a new claim in Slovenia, where both she and Dončić are from.
The outlet reported that Goltes is seeking a total settlement worth $50 million.
“Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … Anamaria has filed a new claim in Slovenia … and she is seeking $40 million for herself … We assume the remaining $10 million is for their two daughters. Luka has said he’d do anything for his kids, so $10 mil may be realistic for them, but the $40 mil is a whole other story,” the publication reported.
TMZ also reported that Goltes wants changes to the current custody arrangement.
“We’re also told she wants to strip Luka of some of his custody rights. Currently, he has the kids at least 2 days a week, and she wants to reduce it to one day a week.”
The report quickly spread across social media, where Bryant didn’t hold back.
“This feels like extortion at its finest…using his kids against him. That child is going to grow up realizing he/she were treated like a pawn… crazy,” the former NFL wide receiver tweeted.
The latest development is another chapter in a deeply personal situation that became public earlier this year.
In March 2026, Dončić announced that he had ended his engagement to Goltes. ESPN’s Dave McMenamin later reported that the Lakers superstar had entered a custody dispute involving the couple’s two daughters.
“I love my daughters more than anything, and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement,” Dončić said.
“Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness, and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”
Dončić reportedly wanted the legal proceedings to take place in Slovenia rather than in Los Angeles because his daughters, Gabriela and Olivia, were living in Europe.
Dončić and Goltes had been together since 2016, when both were around 17 years old. Seven years later, while starring for the Dallas Mavericks, the superstar point guard proposed to her in Slovenia.

Their first daughter, Gabriela, was born in November 2023. After the Mavericks stunned the NBA by trading Dončić to the Lakers in February 2025, Goltes returned to Slovenia with Gabriela three months later. Dončić later traveled home for the birth of their second daughter, Olivia, in late 2025.
While neither Dončić nor Goltes has publicly commented on TMZ’s latest report, the custody battle remains one of the biggest off-court storylines surrounding the Lakers superstar. With a reported $50 million demand and custody rights now under scrutiny, the case is likely to remain in the spotlight until both sides reach a resolution.
