CHICAGO (WGN) — Billed as Chicago's ultimate basketball experience, Bulls Fest is set to return to the West Side this weekend.

Bulls Fest will be held outdoors on the United Center campus from Aug. 22-23. Bulls officials told WGN-TV the event centers on providing family-friendly entertainment for Bulls fans of all ages to enjoy. Last year, more than 16,000 fans visited Bulls Fest across the weekend.

Bulls director of basketball programming Kyle Cummings and Lane Tech boys head basketball Nick LoGalbo joined GN Sports to talk about the event with it less than 48 hours away.

"The scope of the basketball is awesome," Cummings said. "This year, we're going to have over 50 courts and 300 teams playing three-[on]-three. But what I think the coolest thing about Bulls Fest is there's so much to do beyond basketball as well."

The event’s staple — a three-on-three basketball tournament — returns, providing friendly competition for youth ages 8-17, as well as women and men of all skill levels.

LoGalbo was part of a team that won the three-on-three competition at Bulls Fest in 2023, and he offered some coaching tips on how to find success hitting the courts outside the United Center.

"A lot of our open gyms at Lane [Tech], we'll do gyms of three-on-three," LoGalbo said. "We get guys to understand how to play in space and defensively, you can't hide. A lot of the actions we play with five-on-five, like our pick-and-roll concepts, still apply."

In addition to the tournament, Bulls Fest 2026 will feature expanded Bulls Youth Hoops Clinics, youth games and activities, special appearances from Bulls players and legends, local food and an exclusive merchandise collection.

"I think for us at the Bulls, we really want to champion personal growth through basketball," Cummings said. "We're going to teach different fundamentals and concepts and things like that, but the coolest thing about it is that it can really help with things off the court as well."

Cummings pointed toward basketball being able to help kids with things like social development, mental and physical health and wellness, and different leadership lessons.

"I think that's something really important for us and our youth basketball program — just building kids up as better players on the court, but also off the court as well," Cummings said.
