NFL QB Futures Props: Aaron Rodgers, Cam Ward Bets

Getty ImagesThe preseason has finally concluded, and the 2026 NFL regular season is right around the corner.
The week-plus remaining before the Patriots and Seahawks cut the ribbon on the new campaign on Wednesday, September 9 presents a golden opportunity for sharp bettors to take advantage of futures bets that could deliver strong returns on investment at season’s end.
Accordingly, let’s dive into a pair of quarterback futures prop bets worth considering ahead of the 2026 regular season:
Aaron Rodgers, Pittsburgh Steelers
Bet: Over 3,050.5 Passing Yards (-105 on BetMGM Sportsbook)
Rodgers heads into what he’s already declared to be his swan song season set to hear a highly familiar voice in his helmet.
Mike McCarthy, whom Rodgers played under for 13 seasons in Green Bay and won a Super Bowl with after the 2010 season, was hired to replace franchise icon Mike Tomlin, which proved to be just the nudge the future Hall of Fame signal-caller needed to return for one more season.
Rodgers proved he had plenty left in the tank during his 2025 Steelers debut campaign, throwing for 3,322 yards with a 24:7 TD:INT across 16 regular-season games. He also had a valuable opportunity to build chemistry with No. 1 receiver DK Metcalf, who caught 59 receptions for 850 yards and six touchdowns over 15 regular-season contests.
Metcalf is once again set to head up Pittsburgh’s pass-catching corps, and Rodgers gained a valuable new No. 2 receiver in Michael Pittman, who should be head and shoulders above the likes of secondary wideouts the Steelers rolled out for Rodgers last season.
Meanwhile, rookie third-round pick Roman Wilson should have a strong chance to take a significant Year 3 leap, while rookie No. 4 wideout Germie Bernard has no shortage of upside.
And, Rodgers will once again work with a top tight-end duo of Pat Freiermuth and Darnell Washington, while the new No. 3 at the position, Robert Tonyan, enjoyed the best years of his career working with Rodgers in Green Bay.
Rodgers has thrown for at least 3,695 yards in every season in which he’s played double-digit games as a starter, and he displayed strong chemistry with several of the key targets he’ll have at his disposal again this season.
Considering he’ll also be working with the coach/playcaller he’s the most comfortable with and that’s the most knowledgeable about his skill set, Rogers should have an excellent chance of hitting the Over on this prop if he remains healthy.
Cam Ward, Tennessee Titans
Bet: Over 3,200.5 Passing Yards (-114 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
As has been the case for several quarterbacks taken at the top of the NFL Draft and immediately handed the keys to an offense over the years, Ward found himself in less-than-ideal circumstances as he slogged through his rookie campaign.
The former Miami Hurricane’s talent was evident in flashes, but Ward had quite the season-long baptism by fire while toiling for a team that finished with a 3-14 record and -194-point differential, and behind an offensive line that conceded a league-high 55 sacks.
Nevertheless, Ward soldiered through, ultimately throwing for 3,169 yards with a 15:7 TD:INT adding 159 rushing yards and another pair of scores over 16-plus games. He was knocked out of his Week 18 game against the Jaguars early due to a shoulder injury, one that had early signs of extending a strong finish to the season.
The second-year pro was solid over two preseason games this summer while completing 13 of 24 passes for 126 yards, and he hasn’t yet had the opportunity to fully work in a game setting with what could be one of the most explosive wide-receiver groups in the league.
Rookie No. 4 overall pick Carnell Tate couldn’t corral any of the six targets that went his way in three preseason games, but there’s no questioning his upside. Veteran Calvin Ridley is back in the fold as well after his promising 2025 was cut short due to injury.
Then, Elic Ayomanor and Chimere Dike, highly promising rookies a year ago, are back and much more seasoned. Then, Gunnar Helm is set to take over the No. 1 tight-end role after already posting a robust 44-357-2 line over 16 regular-season games in a rotational capacity alongside the departed Chig Okonkwo, who’s now in Washington.
Tennessee’s deep running back room of Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, rookie Nicholas Singleton and Michael Carter is replete with excellent pass catchers as well, giving Ward no shortage of weapons to work with.
Ward fell just short of this prop last season and would have undoubtedly exceeded it had it not been for his early Week 18 exit. He has a dynamic new top target in Lake, and perhaps most important, he has a year of lumps and experience at the NFL level now under his belt.
Consequently, this prop is very much in play for what could be one of this season’s true breakout stars.
