The running back has been placed on the NFL’s Commissioner’s Exempt List while he deals with criminal charges stemming from a May incident. Now, media personality Dan Patrick has offered a stark prediction about Jacobs’ future with Green Bay and potentially his NFL career.
Dan Patrick Predicts Josh Jacobs’ Packers Future
As previously reported, Jacobs is facing misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property charges following a physical altercation with his then-girlfriend in May. He pleaded no contest to both charges on September 10.
Without Jacobs, the Packers have struggled to establish a consistent ground game. They are 1-2 after losses to the Minnesota Vikings and Atlanta Falcons, with their lone win coming in overtime against the New York Jets.
Green Bay’s Week 3 loss to Atlanta was particularly concerning, as the Packers were held to just 17 combined rushing yards from MarShawn Lloyd and Kaleb Johnson on eight carries. Jordan Love added one rushing attempt but failed to gain any meaningful yardage.
That raises the question of where Jacobs stands moving forward. Patrick, however, does not believe the situation will end well for the former Alabama Crimson Tide running back.

“I don’t think they have Josh Jacobs play for them ever again,” Patrick said on his show while reacting to the Falcons’ win against the Packers.
“I think the judge ruled that you can show the video of him with the, whatever, domestic violence case, but you’re not gonna have Josh Jacobs in there.”
According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, Judge Marc Hammer denied the victim’s request to have the records permanently sealed and instead returned them to the appropriate police authorities.
Demovsky also reported earlier this month that the complaint alleges the victim was trying to leave Jacobs’ garage when he “grabbed her and threw her to the ground,” causing her to strike her head and suffer an injury.

Ray Rice remains one of the most high-profile precedents. After the video of his 2014 domestic violence incident became public, the Baltimore Ravens released him, and he never played in the NFL again.
Notably, Jacobs had signed a four-year, $48 million deal with the Packers in March 2024.
With the NFL’s review still unresolved and Jacobs remaining on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, Jacobs’ future in Green Bay is becoming increasingly uncertain. If the Packers decide to move on, Patrick’s prediction could prove to be more than just a bold take.
