The Texas Longhorns earned a 34-27 victory over Ole Miss, but the win came at a significant cost as injuries continue to threaten the No. 11 Longhorns' season. Left tackle Trevor Goosby will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a left knee injury in the first quarter Saturday against the Rebels, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel.
The 6-foot-7, 325-pound senior was carted off the field, with backup Andre Cojoe taking over for the rest of the game. Longhorns coach Steve Sarkisian expressed concern after the victory, telling reporters the injury did not "look very good."
Goosby's absence is a major setback for Texas, which has five regular-season games remaining. He started 22 games over the past three seasons and earned first-team All-SEC honors. He also entered the season as a preseason first-team All-American and a projected top offensive tackle prospect in the 2027 NFL draft. He previously dealt with a bone bruise in his left knee during preseason camp in August but returned to start the Longhorns' first seven games.
Texas also lost wide receiver Cam Coleman to an apparent shoulder injury against Ole Miss. Coleman, a highly regarded transfer from Auburn, has recorded 348 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 21 catches this season. His status moving forward remains uncertain. The Longhorns were already without pass rusher Colin Simmons and running back Hollywood Smothers.
Despite the growing injury concerns, Texas climbed eight spots to No. 11 in Sunday's AP Top 25 after securing its second victory over a top-10 opponent. The Longhorns improved to 5-2 overall and 2-2 in SEC play.
However, Goosby's season-ending injury puts additional pressure on an offensive line that must protect Arch Manning and establish consistency down the stretch.
Texas hosts Mississippi State on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
