The Philadelphia Eagles could be heading toward a much different offseason than expected. After a difficult start to the 2026 NFL season, injuries and consecutive losses have raised questions about the team’s ability to turn things around.
With the possibility of an early first-round selection becoming more realistic, Roseman could have an opportunity to address one of the Eagles roster’s biggest needs in the 2027 NFL Draft.
In the latest ClutchPoints 2027 NFL Mock Draft, Philadelphia selects South Carolina EDGE Dylan Stewart, a prospect who could provide a significant boost to its pass rush.

Stewart has the physical tools and athleticism to become one of the most dangerous edge defenders in his draft class. His potential is undeniable, but concerns about his decision-making on and off the field could cause him to slide down the first round. He was also suspended for one game following an incident against Alabama, adding to the questions surrounding his draft stock.
That could put the Eagles in an interesting position. Despite investing heavily in their defense, Philadelphia could still use another disruptive pass rusher to complement its existing talent. Stewart’s upside makes him an appealing option, particularly if he remains available later than expected.
The projected move also brings back memories of the 2023 NFL Draft, when Roseman traded up to select Jalen Carter despite concerns surrounding the defensive tackle’s pre-draft situation. Carter eventually became a cornerstone of Philadelphia’s defense, making that gamble worthwhile.
Roseman has already shown that he is willing to take this kind of gamble when the talent is too good to pass up. His decision to bring Carter to Philadelphia paid off, and Stewart could give the Eagles another opportunity to land a defensive difference-maker.
Whether Roseman is willing to take that same risk again remains to be seen, but the potential reward could be exactly what Philadelphia needs.
