During Friday night’s bout between the Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun, Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell put on another record-breaking performance. The Fever defeated the Sun 111-91 dominantly, as the duo has recorded 4 30-point games together in one season, surpassing former MVP Aja Wilson and Jackie Young’s record of two such games.

Clark recorded 34 points and 12 assists as Mitchell matched her points, and both guards shot 12 for 19 from the field.

“I think that we both want to see each other be great”

Mitchell responded to the news in a post-game interview.

“I think that we both want to see each other be great just for one…I want to read and react to anything she’s got going, and I did and so we both flow and if we can both stay in the flow throughout the course of  the whole game that’ll be good for us, ” Mitchell said.

Mitchell currently holds the WNBA record for most consecutive 20-point games at 23 following tonight’s matchup.

“Kelsey Mitchell and Caitlin Clark continue to be a pair that do things that have NEVER been done in the history of this league. UNREAL,” another fan wrote.

“68 points from Clark and Mitchell. When those two are cooking, the Fever are a PROBLEM. Four games with both scoring 30+ is absolutely wild!” someone else wrote. 

“To be honest, best backcourt in the league,” another fan posted.

The Indiana Fever hold the fourth spot in the WNBA standings at 26-14 as the playoffs approach, and the duo remains among the best in the league. The MVP race is also still imminent, as Mitchell and Clark each have a legitimate argument for the award.
