Christian Yelich shouted out the Los Angeles Dodgers before the National League Championship Series. He made sure the back-to-back World Series winners have their respect from he and the Milwaukee Brewers. But is Yelich entering the starting lineup ahead of game one of this latest MLB Playoffs showdown?
Yelich will not wear a glove in this contest, after the Brewers left him off the starting defense.

Yelich normally lines up in the outfield to the left. But Jackson Chourio will handle that role.
Yet this move can put the Brewers at a platoon advantage. Milwaukee faces Tarik Skubal on the hill, so it’ll need all the power hitters it needs to withstand the MLB All-Star pitcher.
Yelich and his team have history on their side. They can prevent the MLB’s first three-peat World Series winner since the New York Yankees, who claimed the 1998 to 2000 titles before the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks broke their run up. Plus Milwaukee can finally return to the World Series stage by stunning the Dodgers.
The Brewers last appeared on the biggest baseball stage way before Yelich was born: 1982 to be exact. And that Milwaukee team represented the American League during that period. But the St. Louis Cardinals won that WS, and Milwaukee never returned to the fall classic from there.
Meanwhile, the city of Milwaukee’s last baseball championship arrived in 1957, when the Braves represented the city. So Yelich and the rest of his “Brew Crew” will have the odds stacked against them, plus history on their end. And they’ll have to power past the pitcher LA went all in on before the MLB Trade Deadline.
